Tranquility House Delray Beach

Since 2001 we have been providing sober housing for women in recovery. During that time we have seen many people reap the benefits of our sober living community. We have prided ourselves on creating the best sober living environment possible with high quality housing and a commitment to recovery.

We believe that any alcoholic or drug addict can recover from the deadly disease of addiction. The only requirement is the willingness to participate in your own recovery. We believe that a recovering person has a responsibility to themselves and to the community, not to become or remain a burden to society. We believe that every person in recovery needs to give back what they receive, and no person should become sedentary.

After rehab, I was lost and didn’t know what to do. Thankfully I found tranquility. I learned to gradually fit back in society as a responsible productive adult. I would recommend this sober house to anyone and everyone looking to better their lives !!

Sobriety is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I was sober a short four months when I came to Tranquility House. I was nervous of moving and meeting new women. Kandy, the house manager, saw my discomfort right away. The first day we met, she calmed my nerves with chocolate m&ms, and assured me I’d be okay. The other girls who lived there were easy to warm up to, and I made a few lifelong friends. I didn’t have a car while living there, but I could conveniently walk to Atlantic Avenue to my job in minutes! Some of my most valuable lessons came from Tranquility. The house rules kept me grounded, but didn’t hold me back from growing. Tranquility has QUALITY, and Kandy takes the time to get to know the girls individually. They have a zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol. Kandy always knew when a resident was using, which made me feel safe. The support I got from the house is exactly what I needed to get my life back together. I had so much fun getting sober here. I’ve accomplished a lot since completing my stay at Tranquility, from going back to college, to getting engaged! I have so much to live for, and Tranquility gave me the confidence to finally see that and pursue my dreams.

I was a resident of Tranquility Women’s Sober Living from October of 2010 through June of 2011. This was, by far, the best decision of my life. I was addicted to Heroin, homeless and just an overall mess of a human being. I walked into this house angry, aggressive, depressed and just socially unacceptable in every category. Kandy Burris was the house manager and was exactly what I needed. Caring but firm and didn’t feed into my manipulation. Over the 6+ months that I lived at Tranquility housing, I was taught how to communicate, how to show respect, how to follow rules and, most importantly, how to have fun and be happy again. There was a great group of strong women who I lived with who were serious about their recovery and staying sober, and if there happened to be a “bad egg” who walked through the door, Kandy was right on top of it and got them out. This place saved my life. I will have 5 years sober this October – 10.10.15 – and I am still in contact with not only Kandy, but also many of the girls that I lived with during my stay.
